How to measure
Accurate measurements are the foundation of a perfect fit. Follow this guide before placing your order — our production team manufactures to your exact dimensions.
Insect screen measurement
Measure your opening
All screens are made-to-measure. The process takes under five minutes with a metal tape measure.
Open your window fully
Locate the flexible rubber seals (gaskets) running along the inside edge of the window frame. All measurements are taken strictly inside these seal edges.
Measure the width (W)
Measure horizontally from the inner edge of the left seal to the inner edge of the right seal. Take 3 measurements — Top, Middle, Bottom — and record the smallest figure.
Measure the height (H)
Measure vertically from the inner edge of the top seal to the inner edge of the bottom seal. Take 3 measurements — Left, Middle, Right — and record the smallest figure.
Submit your opening size
Enter the exact seal-to-seal measurements when ordering. Do not add or deduct anything — we automatically include the required +4 cm aluminium outer frame border during production.
- Always use a metal tape measure — fabric or plastic tapes flex and give inaccurate readings.
- Take all measurements inside the rubber gasket / seal line, not the outer frame.
- Record all three readings and use the smallest for both width and height.
- Do not add margins — we add the +4 cm profile automatically during production.
- Ensure at least 4 cm of flat surface around the window exterior for mounting.
Blind measurement
Measure your window
All blinds are precision-cut to your aperture. Always use a metal tape measure — not fabric or plastic.
Choose your fit type
Recess fit (inside the frame) is recommended for a clean, architectural look. Face fit (outside the frame) works where the recess is too shallow — it overlaps the frame by at least 5 cm on each side.
Measure the width — recess fit
Measure the aperture horizontally at three points: Top, Middle and Bottom. Use a metal tape measure only. Record the smallest figure. Do NOT add or deduct tolerances — our factory system applies all necessary allowances.
Measure the height — recess fit
Measure vertically from the top rubber seal to the bottom rubber seal at three points: Left, Middle and Right. Record the smallest figure in millimetres.
Face fit — measure the area to cover
Measure the total width of the area you want to cover, and the total drop from where the blind will fix to where it should fall. No deductions needed — this is your order size.
- Use a metal tape measure only — not plastic or fabric.
- Take all measurements in millimetres (mm) for precision.
- Always measure at three points and use the smallest figure.
- Do NOT add or subtract tolerances — our production system does this for you.
- For recess fit, minimum recess depth required is 6 cm.

Fit Types
Recess fit
Inside the frame — clean, architectural look. Recommended.
Face fit
Outside the frame — overlaps by min. 5 cm per side.
What you'll need
Metal tape measure
Essential. Fabric and plastic tapes flex under tension and produce readings that are 2–5 mm too small. Always use a rigid steel tape.
Notepad & pencil
Record all three readings for each dimension before identifying the smallest. Do not rely on memory.
A second person (optional)
For openings wider than 120 cm, a helper holding one end of the tape prevents sagging and improves accuracy.
